»The Art of Fashion: Installing Allusions« е изложба, състояла се в "Бойманс ван Бейнинген" в Ротердам в периода 19 септември 2009 - 10 януари 2010, представяща най-новото от работата на пет от водещите модни дизайнери.

Както заглавието подсказва, фокусът и на тази изложба е насочен към тънката граница между светът на модата и изкуството. Дизайнерите дават пълна свобода на фантазията и креативността си, експериментирайки с форми и модели на представяне, инсталации, скулптури - всичко това събуждащо у посетителите илюзията за един въображаем свят.

Един от приносите на изложбата е фактът, че провокира публиката към преосмисляне на традиционните представи за мода и изкуство, подтиквайки я да тълкува езика на дрехите по един нов начин.

А сега малко повече за работата на двама от дизайнерите, представена в изложбата.

»The Art of Fashion: Installing Allusions« is an exhibition, which took place in Museum Boijmans van Beuninging in Rotterdam Sept. 19th 2009 - Jan. 10th, 2010 and is featuring the new work of five of the world's leading fashion designers.

As you might guess from the title, the exhibition focuses on the relationship between fashion and art by fulfilling different creative projects. The designers are experimenting with installations and performances, patterns, shapes, forms, sculptures... the effect of all this is an illusion of one imaginary world.

One of the questions rased by this exhibition is "What do we use allusion to do and where does allusion end?", which means that the visitors feel encourage to think outside the box and look at clothes in different way.

 Now I would like to pay special attention to the work of two famous designers featured in the exhibition.

Micro Geography: a Cross Section

С проекта, наречен "Micro Geography: a Cross Section", Хюсеин Халаян успява да обедини в едно модата, тялото и природата. 
Чрез поставянето на въртящ се в аквариум манекен, заобиколен от трите природни елемента  вода, въздух и земя, вниманието на публиката бива фокусирано върху движенията, които той извършва.
 С изграждането на тази инсталация Халаян цели не само да убеди в значимостта на презентирането в модния свят, но и да насочи обществеността към взаимовръзката между трите представени елемента (мода, тяло и природа).

With his project »Micro Geography: a Cross Section« Hussein Chalayan tries to bring together fashion, body and nature. To achieve this he places a spinning mannequin in an aquarium surrounded by the elements of nature - water, earth and air. The focus here is on the manequin's movements as cameras film them.

 With this installation Chalayan wants to show the world not only the importance of performance in fashion, but also the relationship between these three elements (fashion, body, nature).

Childhood Memories

За Ана-Никол Циеше модата е важен инструмент за осъществяването на връзка между работата и спомените от детството й.
За реализирането на своята идея дизайнерката решава да използва предмети, напомнящи й на това време - детската стая и пуловерите, оплетени от самата нея.
Именно дрехите, съчетаващи в себе си история и спомени, внасят в проекта личностна нотка и го правят толкова специален.

Anna-Nicole Ziesche uses fashion to bring together her work and childhood memories, therefore
she choose different objects reminding her of that time - her child's room and the jumpers she knitted herself. Her special contribution to this exhibition is that, by using her clothes as a big source of memories and history, the whole project attains a very personal touch.
